Design Process

  • Phase I

    Approach

    Program Development
    Site Inventory & Analysis
    Education of Limits
    Schematic Design

Our process begins with establishing clear goals for your project. Program Development is a collection of information that lays the groundwork for the rest of the process and provides a path to success. After determining your goals and means it is important to recognize and record your sites conditions through a Site inventory and analysis. At the end of Phase I you can expect two tangible pieces of information, the Program and the Schematic Design. The Schematic design is a graphic representation of ideas and use, focusing on our firm’s principal theory; people are at the center of our work.

  • Phase II

    Concept

    Education of Possibilities
    Design Development
    Elemental Development

Phase II begins once we have communicated our ideas and you are comfortable moving forward; we now know what you need and it’s time to explore what you want. Education of Possibilities provides ideas and techniques you might not have known existed. Design Development builds upon the Schematic Design by blocking in your projects use-of-space and further shows how people will appreciate its function and beauty. Inside individual spaces are the elements that embody the purpose of the space. These elements might serve a specific function, they might be works of art, or if they are designed correctly they will satisfy both.

  • Phase III

    Development

    Education of Realities
    Education of Values
    Value Engineering
    Comprehensive Plan

Phase III bridges the gap between dreams and reality. It is easy to become caught up or overwhelmed by a project’s possibilities. Education of Realities is a pre-bidding process that reveals financial opportunities and insufficiencies in the project. Parallel to this step is the Education of Values, which analyzes our interpretation of priorities and yours. Once value has been defined decisions are easier to make. Value Engineering is a practice used to galvanize all of our priorities into one cohesive Comprehensive Plan. This is the plan you love; this is the plan we love.

  • Phase IV

    Execution

    Final Proposal
    Break Ground

We have a plan. We have an understanding of value. A Final Proposal communicates our commitments and your obligations; it’s time to shake hands. Your expectations can only be realized once we Break Ground. Now satisfaction is simply a matter of time.
